● VFW Post 2801 – Please Help Support Our Post
Post Go Fund Me page
Our two kitchens used as a part of fund raisers to support the Post are in desperate need of updates in order to be adequate for regular rental and canteen usage. Of even greater concern is our roof which is leaking in several places and is estimated to cost tens of thousands of dollars to replace. We need your help in order for our Post to continue to remain in the community.

● Home Depot Grant
State and National VFW officials have notified us of the availability of grants from Home Depot. If we are awarded this grant we have a number of projects around the Post that need the services of a master carpenter. We need this expertise to install new doors, build shelving, install a new covering over the exterior basement stairway (located in the patio), and some other projects around the post.
● Range Opportunities
We still have ammo!!
We still have ammo for purchase cheaper than any other retailer in the area. Federal ammo manufacturers have supplied us with ammo that we can offer you for $20 a box of 50 rounds of 9 mm, and .22 LR for $5 a box of 50 rounds.
That coupled with shooting time for $10 an hour makes for a fun time for you. So check out our range calendar (https://villaparkvfw.org/gun-range/member-page/) and pick a time to come.

● More news from the Auxiliary
Thanks to Debbie Wesoloski, Mary Ciszek and Linda Chamberlin for weeding the front of the Post. They also cleaned by the garbage bin and Debbie had the old trailer and other scrap metal removed before the Outdoor Market and Septotober Fest.
Thanks to everyone who donated, got raffle prizes, and worked that weekend. It made our fund raiser a success. Thanks to our Post and others for donating food, pastries, and coffee which kept our expenses down.
Our condolences to Kathy Cumbee on the loss of her best friend and companion Bob Siessmann and to Todd Siessmann and his family.
We were inspected at the September meeting by Mary Ellen Hollis, District President, and Terry Adams Department Membership Chairperson. They commented that we had a lot of programs going on and no concerns. Thank you everyone for your hard work!
The Post will be having a Veterans Day Program at 11:00 am on November 11th 2021 at the Post.
Hope to see all of you at our next meeting on November 8th 2021 at 7:00 pm.
