The VFW has a rich tradition associated with community service, working closely with other national organizations such as Boy Scouts of America, America Supports You and America's Promise-The Alliance for Youth.

Constructive community service is a founding VFW tenet with volunteerism benefiting education, the environment, health sciences and civic projects. The VFW's citizenship education program is designed to stimulate an interest in America's history, its traditions and institutions, as well as promote patriotism. The VFW also partners with the National Rifle Association, U.S. Chamber of Commerce, International Association of Firefighters and the Salvation Army

The Ladies Auxiliary is collecting items for our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.

We would especially like items for the female troops.

Please bring items down to the Post bar.

For those of you who are not familiar with our "Bakeless" Bake Sale, let us explain" You don't have to:

1. Find a recipe	2. Shop for ingredients	3. Turn your oven on
4. Wash dishes	5. Clean up your kitchen	6. Deliver the baked goods

Instead, just estimate how much you would like to spend on a cake, pie, cookies, etc., then decide on an

affordable amount to donate to the Ladies Auxiliary Post #2801. Your donaiton will help support the

"Welcome Home and Thank You to All Veterans of DuPage County" event taking place next September.
