A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard, or reserve - is someone who, at one point in his or her life, wrote a blank check made payable to “The United States of America,” for an amount of “up to and including my life.”

The motto of the V.F.W. is to "Honor The Dead by Helping The Living". One of the ways we honor our deceased is by performing the V.F.W. ceremony at the wakes of our departed comrades. At the present time our call list has been shortened because many of our members have answered the last call. They have passed away. We are in need of members who are willing to attend the wakes of our departed comrades, therefore we are asking you to sign up on our calling list. Please call or stop in the post to give us your name and number so we can compile a new list.

It is a part of belonging to the V.F.W.
